Integrated roof safety and fall protection systems designed for African conditions and engineered for long-term compliance.

TEMPORARY LIFELINE SYSTEMS

Full Fall Protection When You Need It — Without the Cost of a Permanent Installation

Not every building requires a permanent lifeline system.

For buildings where roof access is infrequent, maintenance is only carried out occasionally, or work
at height is required for a specific project, investing in a complete permanent lifeline installation may
not always be the most practical or cost-effective solution.

Decawat Temporary Lifeline Systems provide a professional alternative.

We design and install a temporary lifeline system specifically for the area where work is being
carried out, providing workers with an appropriate fall-protection system for the duration of the
project.

As the project progresses across the roof, the system can be relocated to the next work area,
allowing the same temporary system to support different phases of the project.

A COMPLETE MANAGED SOLUTION

Decawat can manage the temporary lifeline requirement from initial planning through to installation
and project completion. Depending on the project and roof structure, our service can include:

Designed Around Your Project

Instead of installing a permanent system across an entire building, the temporary lifeline can be
installed only where the current work is taking place.

E.g. Where roofing, waterproofing, solar installation, painting, HVAC maintenance or other work progresses in sections, the lifeline can be repositioned as each section is completed.

This provides a practical way of maintaining fall-protection measures throughout the project without unnecessarily installing permanent infrastructure across areas that may rarely require future access.

TEMPORARY TODAY. PERMANENT TOMORROW.

Where the roof structure and system design permit, attachment positions created for the temporary
system can be planned with the buildings future requirements in mind.

After the temporary system is removed, any penetrations are appropriately sealed and
waterproofed. Where suitable, these predetermined attachment locations may potentially be
utilised as part of a future permanent lifeline installation, subject to the required inspection,
engineering/design verification and certification.

This allows building owners to plan their fall-protection infrastructure progressively rather than
necessarily committing to the full permanent system at once.

Ideal For

Temporary lifeline systems can be particularly suitable for roof repairs and waterproofing, roof painting and coatings, solar installations, HVAC projects, gutter and sheeting replacement, façade and maintenance work, short-term construction projects, shutdown maintenance, and buildings with limited roof-access requirements.

Protect Your Workers. Protect Your Property. Manage Your Risk.

Working at height carries significant responsibilities for contractors, building owners and property management teams. A temporary system should therefore never mean a temporary approach to safety. Decawat provides the planning, installation, documentation and technical support required to establish a professionally managed fall-protection solution for the work being undertaken.

Our systems are planned with consideration for applicable South African occupational health and
safety requirements, project-specific fall-protection requirements, the roof structure and the
intended method of work.

Why Install a Permanent System If You Only Need It Temporarily?

Whether your project lasts a few days, several weeks or a number of months, Decawat can design a
lifeline solution around the actual work programme.

Install it. Work safely. Move it with the project. Remove it when the work is complete.
